The sun was shining brightly , the weather was fair and the day was warm when a healthy baby girl named Julie Anggot Sumagaysay was born. It was July 8,1996 when Julie’s mother gave birth of her at the house of her grandfather in Surallah. Julie was the eldest among the two daughters of Allora Anggot and Edgardo Sumagaysay.

Julie ‘s youngest sister was Joyce . Julie was two years older than her. Joyce loved to play with her sister but sometimes they go quarrel that ‘s why their mother always put them in a crib where they cannot escape and realized their mistakes.

When Julie was 4 years old her parents decided to celebrate her birthday in a resort. It was her first time to walk along in seashore and felt the breeze of the sea. At first she was afraid of going deep into the sea but when her father hold her tight together with Joyce she felt comforted and calm.
Julie loved to associate with her cousins and listens to her grandmother’s story.
At the same age , Julie was invited to be a flower girl in her mother’s friend wedding. That time she was very happy for she wore a very beautiful dress.
A year pass, Julie was five years old. She began her kindergarten in Purok Sison Elementary School.
At the middle of the school year, kinder day was celebrated and Julie was chose to deliver the poem “Sa aking mga Kababata” of Dr. Jose Rizal. It was her first time to talk in front of many people. At first, she felt nervous but at the end she gained self-confidence that help developed her personality.
On March 2003, Julie graduated in kindergarten on Purok Sison Pre-School. At the age of 7 Julie entered grade one at the same school. In her grade two in elementary she joined the street dancing competition in the celebration of Pasundayagan Festival in Surallah. She was also a member of folk dancer in Purok Sison.
In her grade IV , Julie joined a Girl Scout Encampment and she was glad for their team always got the prize in every task. In the next month, another GSP program was held in the South Cotabato Cultural Gymnasium. One of the competition was cheer dancing. Julie and the group of girl scouts joined the competition but they only got the consolation prize.
At the same month, Julie joined the school band of PSES in the celebration
of elementary day.
On the following month, the whole class of Mrs. Belandres were Julie belong went to Isulan, Sultan Kudarat to visit a bird sanctuary.

The pupils including Julie were admired. To the beauty of God’s creation especially birds.
On the loveliest and sweetest month of February, Julie together with her co-contestant Casielle Mae, their coach Helen Estember and Julie’s mother went to Baguio City, Science Investigatory. This study was about herbal oil and ointment from plants extract that cure rheumatism, headache and other joints pain. This project led them to the national level and won 8th place.
In the short period of time, Julie visited the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), the 300 step Grotto of Lady Lourdes, rode in a swan boat in Burnham Park and surveyed the big market of Baguio City. A day past, before leaving Manila, Julie visited her relatives in Quezon City and took a glanced at them.
